With the consent of the chairperson of the Examination Board, the final thesis may be carried out in another department of TU Darmstadt or in an institution outside the university if supervision and evaluation is ensured by a member of the professorial group of the department awarding the degree (§ 23 (4) General Examination Regulations (APB))

For theses carried out externally, a few points must be observed. These are compiled in a leaflet issued by the Directorate II.
