What do we do?

The student council represents the interests of the students on the department level. It represents your interests in the departmental council, in numerous committees and boards, as well as towards the professors.

In general, we are there to help you with questions about your studies, Darmstadt, institutions and anything else you can think of. During the semester, we meet once a week on Tuesday at 7 PM for a session (in which you can also participate) and provide exams and exam protocols.

Once a year, the student members of the Departmental Council (FBR) and the Student Representatives (FSR) are elected. In addition to the nine students in the FSR, all other active student representatives are also involved in the decision-making process and work just as much as the officially elected members.

The departmental council is the highest committee of the department. It consists of professors, staff and students. All important decisions are made here on the departmental level.

As students, we do not have a voting majority in any committee, but we are involved everywhere in the department. For example, we are involved in decisions on changes to degree programs, the allocation of funds, and the appointment of professors. We are also active across departments, for example in the Student Council Conference (FSK) at the TU Darmstadt.

The Student Council Conference consists of the union of all student councils of the TU Darmstadt. It discusses current topics that the individual departments have & works on interdepartmental problems that affect all student councils.

In addition to the elected and external committees, we also have internal committees that are used to organize the student council's work.

A math pre-course is offered to new students each year prior to orientation week to bring all students up to the same level.

During the semester we organize parties for the students in different locations with different themes.

Furthermore, we offer various events such as the Chill and Grill where we sit together with the students over a campfire and food and drinks.
