Petri networks in optimization

Bachelor thesis, Master thesis

Petri networks are a mathematical modelling language that can be used to descibe distributed systems. For specific optimization problems, they are therefore a grath choice for modelling. The scope of the topic is to describe the theory behind petri networks and identify optimization problems in the literature that has been solved with the help of petri networks. In case of a master thesis, a comparison to (mixed) integer linear programming is part of the topic as well.
