Welcome to the Chair of Information Systems
The newly established Chair of Information Systems at the TU Darmstadt stands out for its interdisciplinary research on topics related to human-AI interaction, digital health, and the future of knowledge work. In diverse projects, we combine theory with practice and are currently working together with psychologists and psychotherapists, radiologists, or designers on AI topics that occupy these professions.

- June 15-17, 2026 Julian Wohlschlegel presented his paper “I Drift Away Therefore I Am In Decisional Conflict” – Investigating Algorithm Aversion As Asymmetric Belief Updating Using Cognitive Processes Data at ECIS2026 in Milan and received the Best Complete Research Paper Award (2nd runner-up). - 14.-17.12.2025 The paper Collaborating with LLM-based Chatbots Can Reduce Prosocciality by Professor Jussupow and others was presented at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Nashville.
- 08.12.2025 The article Knowing (Not) to Know: Explainable Artificial Intelligence and Human Metacognition by Professor Jussupow on the topic of human-AI collaboration and the influence of AI explanations on human decision-making processes was published in the journal Information Systems Research. Congratulations!
- 28.11.2025 Together with Dr. Susanne Gaube (University College London), we organized an international workshop on “The Use of AI in Healthcare – Challenges for the Future.” The aim was to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and promote the dissemination of current research findings.
Researchers from the fields of information systems, computer science, (industrial) psychology, human factors, behavioral sciences, economics, and medicine were represented.
Dr. Mohammad Rezazade Mehrizi (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam & Leiden University Medical Center), Dr. Anirban Mukhopadhyay (Technical University of Darmstadt), Dr. Kevin Bauer (Goethe University Frankfurt), Prof. Dr. Markus Langer (University of Freiburg), PD Dr. med. Daniel Pintos dos Santos (University Medical Center Mainz), and Saba Jalali (VU Amsterdam) participated. - 11.11.2025 We are delighted that the German Research Foundation is funding the project “Understanding the Role of Metacognitive Control in AI-Augmented Medical Diagnostic Decision-Making.” The project will start on January 1, 2026.
- 29.10.2025 Professorin Jussupow gave a lecture at the Munich School of Management at LMU on “The Indirect Disclosure Effect: How Disclosing Generative AI Use Impacts Creative Collaboration with AI”.
